January 1st started out just like any other day, but it would finish like no other day I had ever experienced. I woke up late as this was a holiday and had breakfast with Mum & Dad. Later in the day we had lunch and then we packed my suitcase ready to start my adventure. I was about to go where I had never been before, on an aeroplane without my parents. I hoped they could manage without me for a few days. In the afternoon we went to the airport and I boarded my awaiting
Virgin Airlines jet bound for
Melbourne and my adventure.

My plane was late leaving
Brisbane, but it must have been downhill because I still got there at the right time.

My Grandpa had been told we would be late so I had to wait for him at the terminal. He got there about ten minutes later and then we went to his house. I had dinner and then went to bed as it was already quite late. Grandpa and Yia Yia put me in the guest suite which looked like a hotel room.
